About Us
Masjid Al-Ikhlas is a peaceful, non-profit masjid located at 9323 Perrin Beitel Suite 204, San Antonio, TX 78217, United States. Before Ramadan 2025, we proudly completed the construction and renovation of our mosque, creating a welcoming space for worship, learning, and community.
Our mission is to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim community while fostering unity, understanding, and compassion through prayer, reflection, and meaningful engagement. From outreach initiatives to special Islamic events and programs, we strive to enrich lives and strengthen our community bonds.

Meet Our Imam
Imam Jamal Karous
Imam, Khateeb, Educator, and Community Leader
Imam Jamal Karous is a seasoned Islamic leader with over 16 years of dedicated service in guiding, educating, and strengthening Muslim communities through impactful leadership, structured education, and community development initiatives. His work has consistently focused on building spiritually grounded, knowledge-driven, and socially responsible communities.
Throughout his career, he has delivered hundreds of Jumu’ah khutbahs, lectures, and seminars, and has played a central role in mentoring individuals, families, and youth, helping them navigate personal, spiritual, and social challenges with clarity and confidence. His leadership has contributed to strengthening community cohesion, improving youth engagement, and fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
Imam Jamal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from Ibn Tofail University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies through the International Open University. He also pursued graduate studies in Applied Mathematics and completed professional training in Data Science in Austin, Texas, reflecting a strong commitment to both traditional scholarship and modern analytical disciplines.
In addition to his Islamic leadership, he has served as a Mathematics instructor at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), bringing discipline, structure, and analytical rigor to his teaching approach.
His leadership experience spans multiple critical community roles, including Imam and Khateeb, Islamic lecturer, family and youth counselor, Qur’an and Arabic instructor, Sunday school principal, and community program director. In these capacities, he has developed and implemented educational programs, strengthened youth mentorship systems, and supported families through structured counseling and guidance.
Imam Jamal’s areas of focus include Qur’anic studies, Islamic education, youth development, family stability, and community leadership development. His approach emphasizes measurable impact: transforming knowledge into action, strengthening faith into practice, and turning individuals into contributors to the broader well-being of society.
He remains committed to advancing communities through authentic Islamic knowledge, strategic leadership, and sustainable educational and developmental programs that produce lasting positive outcomes.
